Nero Start

Nero MediaHome

  • [NEW] At Windows 10 system, now Nero MediaHome supports high dynamic range(HDR) playback for videos, movies and TV shows. You will find more detail at its How To document.
  • [NEW] The detected AI tags are not so satisfied? Now you can manually correct the AI tag for your photo to better organize your photos.
  • [IMPROVEMENT] Now you can find your photos easily! The new organized “Find” view allows you select “Find” conditions with much clearer structure.
  • We have fixed some issues during face detection for the photos which are stored at OneDrive, NAS and network drives.

 

Nero AI Photo Tagger

  • Fixed the issue “Video looks distorted with green stripes in preview windows or burned disc” while decoding via Video Graphic Card Hardware Acceleration Decoding.
  • Fixed the the position of audio config menu in Express Editing while in tablet model. At the same time, click the number in pop up volume adjust dialog, you can adjust the volume more precisely.
  • Fixed the issue “Export MPEG-4 files failed due to the useless audio settings”.
  • Fixed the crashes in Nero Video while enable the function of Video Graphic Card Hardware Acceleration Decoding.
  • Fixed the issue that Seamless audios are missing in Audio Tab or cannot import into Nero Video project.
  • Fixed the issue that the right context menu is missing in the Text editing screen.

 

Nero Recode

  • [NEW] Support to export AVC 2K video files.
  • Fixed the issue that the estimated output size is much larger than the actual size.

How to enable “HDR compatible mode” to watch videos in Nero MediaHome?

Everyone is talking about 4K or 8K, but HDR is actually a greater improvement in visual quality. HDR means more detailed images, better color, and highlights that really pop.

Nero Platinum supports now the playback of HDR videos in Nero MediaHome. Nero’s HDR technology allows you to enjoy near-HDR image quality even on non-HDR displays!

What You’ll Need

Every link in the chain – from your Windows system to the graphic card, to the source video file – has to be HDR-capable. That means you need:

  • Windows 10 64bit system, with Nero Platinum or Nero Platinum 2021 installed

Nero Platinum supports HDR playback for 23.x and higher versions. You can get the latest version from:

  • A HDR-capable Graphic card or chip

That means Nvidia GTX 1060 or better, AMD RX470 or better, or Intel HD 620 or later.  Note that these are the bare minimums, and higher-end cards will be able to have better performance.

  • HDR-capable source video file

Not all videos can be played with HDR effect – you can hardly ask a SD quality video to achieve high-definition HDR playback. Basically, HDR playback is only possible for H.265 10bit AVC video or movie files.

If your video file and your system support HDR playback, you will see the ‘HDR’ icon on the Nero MediaHome tool bar:

Clicking ‘HDR’ icon will turn on/off the HDR playback.

Enjoy a better performance with HDR hardware playback

With a Nvidia GTX 1060 or better, AMD RX470 or better, or Intel HD 620 or later.  Please activate the ‘Enable hardware acceleration’ option in ‘Nero MediaHome > Options > Video’. The hardware acceleration will be applied after you re-start the playback.

Do Nero Video and Nero Recode support exporting AVC 2K files?

In the new generation of Nero Video, we added 4 AVC 2K resolution support into the profile “AVC Ultra HD (4K)”. Select 2K resolution to export AVC 2K files.

How to get Nero products via installer

How to get available products via Installer & Nero Start

  • Launch the latest installer, and click the button “Install Now”. The installer willbegin to download and install the latest applications.

Based on different product definition and installation configurations, some products will download and install all available applications, but some products will only download and install Nero Start and the necessary components. The application download & installation will continue in the Nero Start Updates after the product has been unlocked.

  • Nero Start will be started after the whole installation is finished.

  • After signing in/registering with your Nero Account, the product will be available. Check the “Download and install all available applications” option to check if there are any updates available

  • Start the Stub Installer, and the application will check, download and install all available applications.

How to re-Install Nero 2020 products via Legacy Stub Installer

  • Start the Stub Installer, and the application will check, download and install all available applications.

  • Nero Start will start after the whole installation is finished.

  • After signing in to your Nero Account, Nero Start will pop up a dialog and ask you to activate a new Nero product via activation code or to install existing own products. Selecting “Nero Platinum 2020” will trigger a download in the Updates screen. At the same time, the default product will also change to Nero Platinum 2020.

  • If you cancel the selection in the previous pop up dialog, it is also possible to find and download Nero 2020 under “My products”.
