How to Use
There are two ways to apply the settings:
1. Configure your settings on the Options page
For example, if you’re a portrait photographer who regularly upscales portrait photos, we recommend: Set the Engine to Online, default model (Online) to Face Enhancement, and turn auto-start ON.
After setup, you’ll only need to input the portrait images. The app will handle all Face recovery and upscaling operations automatically.
This setup is also ideal when upscaling videos with Image Upscaler, processing each frame.
2. Click the “Apply to all” button to implement model settings or size settings instantly.
This option is better for complex daily tasks where you might not want auto-start because you have different photos that need different models.
The [Apply to all] button remains available to apply your current model settings to all remaining unprocessed images.

Why the Face enhance is not available to me?
The Face enhancement is currently based on Nero Cloud GPU only so it requires the PRO version.
We are pleased to announce that the latest version includes an online engine mode. Users can now upscale images faster than ever before, thanks to the acceleration provided by the Nero Cloud GPU.
What is the Cloud process?
This mode refers to the integration of a web service engine within the AI Image Upscaler Windows Desktop App to handle the process of image upscaling.
Therefore, images will be uploaded to the server for processing. Rest assured that your precious pictures will not be stored after processing. Our server will promptly and securely delete your uploaded data, ensuring that there is no risk of your valuable information being exposed. We prioritize your data privacy and are fully committed to protecting it.
Why do we need the Cloud process?
The speed of AI image upscaling greatly depends on the performance and power consumption of the GPU.
In recent years, due to the influence of Bitcoin and AI-Generated Content (known as AIGC), the prices of graphics cards have skyrocketed. Not all users can afford to equip their desktop computers with high-performance graphics cards.
Even if your desktop computer at home has a good graphics card, you may still have to endure long waits caused by the lack of a dedicated graphics card while traveling on business trips.
No more errors, hardware issues, quality compromises, or long loading times! That’s why the online engine mode is introduced.
Can I use the Cloud process for free?
First of all, the Cloud process is not a free service. It requires consuming credits from your account to enable its usage. Generally, it takes 1 or 2 credits to upscale one image depends on the model options you applied.
Secondly, you need to have Pro version privileges. You can upgrade your entitlement through In-App purchases or online purchases.
If you have subscribed to our Platinum Suite 1-Year License (known as the Nero Platinum Suite 365), congratulations, you can log in to your Nero Account to obtain your entitlement.
We will provide 100 bonus credits to your account once you have a successful purchase.
How to use the Cloud process?
Run the app and import image.
After set the target size, model and face options, click the [Cloud] button to begin.
It will start upscaling with the Nero Cloud GPU.
Don’t forget to save the result after processing completes.
Additionally, you can also set the preferred engine mode as Online mode and specify the default model after enabling the Auto-start option.
Simply import the image without clicking any [Process]/[Cloud] button, and the app will automatically perform the image upscaling task.
What should be considered?
You need to have an internet connection.
You need to have the Pro version privileges.
You need to have enough Nero Credits as each process cost 1-2 credits.
Finally, once the images are processed, please save them to your local storage promptly.

Our main focus currently is upscaling physical content with sharp corners like digital illustrations, images with sharp borders, and contrasting textures (such as watches).
For high-quality images such as 4K wallpapers, the result will be less obvious after processing.
Do you remove JPEG compression artifacts?
Yes, we automatically remove JPEG noise (also known as compression artifacts), if we detect an image with a .jpg or .jpeg extension.
If for any reason you want to upscale your image without removing noise, you can input your image as a png-file.
Is there a size limit for the images I want to upscale?
For web and mobile versions, the source image should be smaller than 16 megapixels (e.g. 4000*4000 pixels in a 1:1 aspect ratio).
For the desktop version, the source image should be smaller than 16.78 megapixels.
However, the processing speed depends on your desktop’s and GPU’s limitations.
Processing a high-resolution image will take up more time. In addition, the result may be less obvious.
