Unlock Nero TuneItUp PRO after Installation

The new Nero TuneItUp will not use any serial numbers to activate the PRO feature. Instead, the software needs to sign in to your Nero Account to unlock the PRO feature.

After you have installed Nero TuneItUp, launch Nero Start and sign in to your Nero Account.

After the account/product was unlocked successfully, Nero TuneItUp will auto enable the PRO features.

How to fix Nero Installer downloading issues

The Nero Installer may fail to download its content properly. This can be caused by wrong configurations for the Network in Windows. This article describes the most common problems and the solutions to fix them.

Proxy Setting

In your private network environment, proxy is mandatory for accessing the Internet. To make the Nero Installer work correctly, the proxy settings in Windows have to be correct. Nero Installer will get the proxy setting from Windows, and apply the settings while downloading the content.

Some downloading tools may add a proxy. You may need to remove the proxy settings while downloading & installing Nero packages.

Windows 8, Windows 10 or later OS

In Windows 8, open Settings -> Network -> Proxy or in Windows 10, open Settings -> Network & Internet -> Proxy. Here you can adjust the proxy settings.

Open the Internet Explorer, then open Internet options -> Connection -> Lan settings. In the pop up dialog, you can change the proxy settings.

Security Settings

Nero Installer uses the Windows Internet Engine to download and install individual Nero product packages. Some old versions of Windows Internet Explorer have the TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 settings in the Windows Internet Engine disabled. This will cause a failed download.

To resolve the issue, open the Internet option in Internet Explorer. In the Advanced tab, scroll to “Security”, make sure “Use TLS 1.1” and “Use TLS 1.2” are checked, and apply the settings.

How to get available products via Installer & Nero Start

Launch the latest installer, and click the button “Install Now”. The installer willbegin to download and install the latest applications.

Based on different product definition and installation configurations, some products will download and install all available applications, but some products will only download and install Nero Start and the necessary components. The application download & installation will continue in the Nero Start Updates after the product has been unlocked.

Nero Start will be started after the whole installation is finished.

How do I create a Nero Account?

When purchasing the Platinum Suite directly via Nero
When purchasing the Platinum Suite, a Nero Account is automatically created based on the email address used for the online purchase.

Once your order is complete, you will receive an email with your password/activation code. With that you can unlock and use the software.

When purchasing the Platinum Suite from a third-party vendor

If you do not purchase Nero Platinum Suite directly from Nero (e.g. via Amazon, eBay, Software Store, etc.), you can create a Nero Account directly in Nero Start.

Launch Nero Start, enter your email address in the first screen, and Nero Start will check to see if a Nero Account is already registered with that email address. If no such Nero Account exists, Nero Start will help you create a new Nero Account.

During registration, your password for the new Nero Account will be sent to the email address you provided. Enter the password in Nero Start to complete the registration of your Nero Account.

Account Settings
You can skip the registration during the first startup in Nero Start and do it later in the account settings.

To do this, click the account settings button in the upper right corner of Nero Start, and click “Register” to create a Nero Account.

In the Nero Account Registration window, enter your e-mail address, click the “Resend my password” link, and your password will be sent to the e-mail address you provided. Enter your password and click the “Register” button to complete the creation of your new Nero Account.
