I receive an error message when installing Nero – What should I do?

It may happen that you see one of below error messages when installing:

  • MSVCR110.DLL is missing

If you happen to see this error message please download and install ‘Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4’  from the following Microsoft web page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679

 

  • MSVCP140.DLL is missing
  • api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing
  • Installation error 1158

In each of these cases please apply all available Windows Updates and additionally please install ‘Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015’ with administrative privileges from the following Microsoft web page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Nero Image Drive is gone – how can I mount ISO images now?

To access data available only as an ‘ISO disc image’ without burning you need to ‘mount’ the image. This will make the image available as virtual CD/DVD drive.

‘Windows 8’ and ‘Windows 10’ support this out of the box. Just double click on the file with the ‘.iso’ extension and it will show up in the ‘Windows Explorer’ tree.

If you use ‘Windows 7’ and older you can download below free tool from Microsoft to enable the functionality on your operating system, too.
