If you have already used 1-Click Video Story and your project is loaded, you will have access to the theme selection window. Otherwise, please open a project in Express or Advanced Editing and drag one or more photo or video assets into the storyboard or timeline. Now open the theme selection box in Nero Video by clicking on the âThemesâ button top of the timeline/storyboard. The default template is shown top right.
Go to the theme selection list left hand side and select a new theme (e.g. Nostalgic-2). Your choice will be shown top right as a new theme for default selection.
Set the mark for using the selected theme as a new default theme in 1-Click Video Story. The new default theme (Nostalgic-2) will be set and will now be used as the default template any time you utilize 1-Click Video Story.
‘1-Click Video Story’ is a comfortable way to create professional slideshows and movies just via drag & drop, and one click, only. From Nero 2019 the feature is accessible via the drop zone in Nero Start and via the drop zone in Nero Video.
This unique feature helps creating polished movies and slideshows in a snap. Simply drag & drop photos and videos to the drop zone in Nero Video and select ‘1-Click Video Story’. All files will automatically be loaded into a pre-designed video project complete with intro and outro sequence, effects, captions and matching music. Simply preview the video project, export, and share it.
‘1-Click Video Story’ works with landscape footage (TV) as well as vertical photos and videos (smartphones). So, if you drag only vertical footage into the drop zone, Nero Video will automatically load your project into a vertical video project. If you drag & drop just landscape or mixed footage (landscape and vertical), Nero Video will open a TV landscape project and automatically remove the black bars in your vertical footage.
Tip: By default ‘1-Click Video Story’ uses a preloaded template. However, you have an easy option to use any of the theme templates in your product as your favorite personalized template for ‘1-Click Video Story’. For more details, see Nero KnowHow 00140.
When using Nero Video for burning videodiscs, you may run into this error.
âStatus 3â is a general status for the burning process in Nero Video. It means that some error occurred when burning video data to disc either due to missing system resources (1), issues within the transcoding process (2) before the burning has started, or (3) in the final burning process.
Not enough System Resources will cause âBurn process failed with status 3â
Burning a videodisc Nero Video contains several processes, like creating disc menus, transcoding the video files in the authoring project, and burning the content to disc/local disk. During the whole process, the application needs enough system resources (CPU, Memory) to complete the job. So, when burning a video disc in Nero Video, please make sure those applications requesting huge system resources are not running at the same time.
Failed Transcoding will cause âBurn process failed with status 3â
While burning content to disc in Nero Video, all video and audio source clips should match DVD/AVCHD/BD disc compatibility, like the video format, the video resolution, and the bitrate of the video files. In many cases, the files used within a disc project do not match DVD/AVCHD/BD disc compatibility, so Nero Video needs to transcode these files before burning them to the disc medium or to a local disk. Sometimes, this transcoding process may fail, also causing the following burning process to fail, resulting in the error âBurn process failed with status 3â.
Below you can find some reasons for failed transcoding:
Not enough space on the hard disk partition (default is C:\, but it can be modified in Options -> Application Setting -> Save) which is used to store the transcoded files
Some source video files may not be supported in Nero Video encoding engine
The source video files added to your disc project may be damaged, which will cause the transcoding to fail
etc.
If the above cases apply, we recommend doing a pre-transcoding of your source files in Nero Recode. From Nero Reocde 2019, the application has the option to select disc compatible profiles to trans-code video files.

Issues within the burning process causing âBurn process failed with status 3â
Nero Video will do different checks to make sure that the burning related operations do not fail. These will be:
checking device(s)
checking the medium
checking disc erase
or similar operations
If any critical error happens (like the disc/medium is broken, the burner cannot be accessed, etc.) and the application cannot fix or recover the given error, such a dialog will pop up in the application, indicating that the burning failed with the given error.
The error message shows a link to a log file for getting a better understanding of the issue.
Click âokâ to open it or go to this path: “c:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Nero\Nero 2019\Nero Vision\NeroVideoLog.txt”, where you can find the error information of âBurn process failed with status 3â.
Please check the log file for some error codes with typical keywords like âKEY_******â. Below table shows typical error codes and options how to fix these.
In some edge cases, if the size of the created disc content is larger than the disc capacity, this may also cause the burning failed error.
To fix such an issue, you may (1) either change the disc content to remove some files from the content, or (2) modify/change the quality setting of the video files.
For the second case you can open the âRecording Format Optionsâ, select the disc type, and change the âQuality settingâ to âFit to Discâ. In this case, Nero Video can automatically transcode the file in a suitable quality, matching your disc type and the available space on the given disc.
If the above solutions cannot fix the issue, please change the burn destination from Optical Disc Drive to Image Recorder, and burn the image to local disk. Use other burning software like Nero Burning ROM or Nero Express and burn again. For more information also check Nero KnowHow 00150.
NOTE: If you want to restart the application or restart your PC, please make sure the Nero Video project is saved.
When opening a saved project in Nero Video, the application checks if all files associated to your timeline project are available. This means: all files (video, photo, audio) that you have imported to your project and used within your project timeline – before saving and closing it last time – will be checked for.
If Nero Video shows this message with one or the other file reference, the following problem scenarios and possible solutions apply.
Problem 1
Some or all of the media that you have used in the project timeline reside on an external drive that you disconnected in the meantime.
Solutions
Attach your drive with the respective media used in your project again, click âBrowseâ and navigate to the folder that contains the file with the name mentioned in Nero Video message box. Select the file and click âopenâ. Nero Video will re-link all files that reside in the same location automatically
If you have moved individual files to other folders, Nero Video will show the same dialog box again, asking for another respective file name. If you have deleted single files in the given location on purpose, click âdeleteâ, and continue step by step
If you have deleted all other files, or if you want to start the project anyway, click on âdelete allâ
Note:Â if you deleted linked files in the source location permanently, Nero Video cannot restore these files within a project. So, be careful when permanently deleting source files that are associated to a project.
TIP-1: When editing projects, we recommend always importing all media files from externally attached drives or devices to reside in a hard disk inside of your PC. Otherwise, you will have the risk of losing these files forever due to e.g. deletion on the external drive. In such a case, Nero Video will not be able to restore your project – i.e. relink your files

Problem 2
Some or all of the media that you have used in the project timeline reside in a folder that you have moved to a different folder path inside your PC or an external drive.
Solutions
In Nero Video dialog box click on âBrowseâ and navigate to the respective folder on your PC that contains the file with the name mentioned in Nero Video message box. Select the file and click âopenâ
If this relates to an external drive, and for other steps and processes, please check the steps and tips mentioned above
By design, Nero Video can only import media files if they exist in a supported video, image, or audio format.
Nero Video has a high compatibility with media formats. Still there may be cases when the format that you want to import is not supported, and an error message may pop up.

The disc creation module in Nero Video does not allow this

No import of project file formats
Project files are no media files. These are data bases of the metadata of a given project
Nero Video cannot import video projects as media files
If you want to start an existing project go to home screen âOpen Nero Video Projectâ
Many video, photo, or audio editing programs create special meta data files of individual files used within their projects and save them in the same folder as the source media files
These files are no media files and are neither needed nor supported in Nero Video
TIP: Before importing from such a folder, select âsort by file formatâ in Windows Explorer and only import media files. If – by accident – you have some of these meta-data files in your list of files to import click âokâ. Nero Video will import compatible media files, anyway
No import of document files
In this case a user wanted to import document types of formats (word, text, etc.) via drag & drop into Nero Video
Such non-media formats are not supported in Nero Video
TIP:Â If you use the import function within the editing and disc authoring module of Nero Video, non-compatible formats will not be shown. This may help if you are unsure.
