What can be configured in the Options of Nero Start?

There are two buttons in the right-top of the Options screen:

Apply: Save and apply the new configuration

Reset: Reset all configurations to default settings.

You can use the detected system language or select one of the supported languages as the Nero product display language.

Install & Online Update

Install location for Nero Products: The location used for installing or updating Nero Products. You should keep 5GB of disk space available for the partition.

There are 3 types of updates check policy:

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them (recommended)	If updates for the applications are detected, Nero Start will automatically download the update in the background. You will be notified upon completion.
Check for update but let me choose whether to download and install them	While Nero Start launches, it will check for updates for the applications, and show the number available updates.
Never check for updates (not recommended)	Nero Start will not check for any updates.

Click the button “Check for updates” to immediately leave the Options screen and start an online update check in Updates screen.

Policy

Info: Make sure to click the button “Apply” to save the configuration update before leaving the Options page.

How to obtain products from the VIP Store?

Available Product: Nero Platinum Suite – yearly license

The VIP Store is the app Store in Nero Start. It is only available for Nero Platinum Suite – yearly license users. In the VIP Store, you can directly purchase additional software with just one click.

Info: Nero Start and other necessary components should be updated to the latest version to ensure the smooth functioning of the VIP Store.

When you are signed in in Nero Start and have Nero Platinum selected as your default product, the Nero VIP Store will appear in the left menu entry.

Nero Platinum subscribers will receive exclusive discounts for different products.

After you have confirmed your purchase in the VIP Store, the order will be placed by our authorized payment provider Verifone. The payment method will be the same one you are using for your yearly Nero Platinum license.

After the order is finished and successful, Nero Start will begin to download and install the product. After the product is installed successfully, you can start the application directly via the VIP Store.

You can also find the application in your Extras menu entry.

If the payment information from your Nero Platinum Suite happens to be out of date, you will be notified and asked to input your payment info manually to continue with the order.

How to get Nero products via installer

How to get available products via Installer & Nero Start

Launch the latest installer, and click the button “Install Now”. The installer willbegin to download and install the latest applications.

Based on different product definition and installation configurations, some products will download and install all available applications, but some products will only download and install Nero Start and the necessary components. The application download & installation will continue in the Nero Start Updates after the product has been unlocked.

Nero Start will be started after the whole installation is finished.

After signing in/registering with your Nero Account, the product will be available. Check the “Download and install all available applications” option to check if there are any updates available

After signing in to your Nero Account, Nero Start will pop up a dialog and ask you to activate a new Nero product via activation code or to install existing own products. Selecting “Nero Platinum 2020” will trigger a download in the Updates screen. At the same time, the default product will also change to Nero Platinum 2020.

Why does Nero Start show the “Repair Nero Product” screen and how to continue?

Sometimes, Nero Start will show the “Repair Nero Product” screen. This means Nero Start detected some damaged files or configurations that prevent Nero products from working correctly.

Please make sure the network is available, then click “Repair now”. Nero Start will try to repair the damaged files. After the repair process is finished, you can open the Updates screen to check if there are updates available for the applications.

I am not a Nero Platinum 2019 subscription user, what should I do If I do not have a Nero Account after Online Update in 2020 Q1?

Recently, Nero Start supplied an online update for Nero 2019, Nero Platinum Suite and Nero 2020 products. After the online update, Nero 2019 users can also benefit from some of the advantages that Nero 2020 users like using the AI Photo Tagger and logging in to the Nero Account to manage all Nero products.

These are the steps for a non-subscription user to get access to the latest Nero Start, even without a Nero Account.

Use Nero Start without Nero Account Sign-in

During the 1^st time launch of Nero Start, the application will help you to configure your software with the Nero Account. If the software detects that you are not a Nero Platinum 2019 Subscription user, an additional entry point will appear in the bottom of the screen. Click the link to skip the registration process.

Everything works the same as in the previous Nero Start. Each Nero application has a startup button that will start up the application by clicking it. You can also switch buttons to search use cases of Nero applications, Nero Mobile apps, or preview video with Movie Themes.

If you would like to create a Nero Account later, you can register by clicking on the “account” button in the top right corner.

Use Nero Start with Nero Account

While in the Nero Start startup wizard, you can also create a Nero Account. Input an email address and the Nero Account System will check if it is a valid account already exists and allow to sign in or guide you to register a new account.

After entering the password which was sent to your email address via the Nero Account System, you can finish creating a new Nero Account.

In next screen, you can enter the Activation Code to unlock your other Nero Products, for example Nero Platinum 2020, Nero Burning ROM 2020. If you do not have any valid Activation Code, just click the “Skip for now” to skip this step. Without any Activation Code, you still can use your own Nero 2019 products as usual.

The activation code is not the same as Nero Serial Number which you got for Nero 2019 products. Entering any serial number will produce an error message.

You are also able to click the link to purchase a full version copy of Nero Platinum Suite.

Also for Nero Platinum 2019 subscription users, after signing into the Nero Account, an In-App notification will help you to upgrade the product to the latest Nero Platinum Suite, that always supplies the newest features, product improvements, quality improvements and bugs fix. (The Nero Account for Nero Platinum 2019 Subscription users was already created while ordering the product in Nero Online Shop. It is the same email address used to receive the delivery information of the purchase.)
