The Batch Upscale feature lets you process multiple images in one go — up to 20 images at a time — while maintaining high quality and flexibility. You can either apply the same AI model and settings to all images with one click or customize different settings for each image individually. This feature saves time and ensures consistent, professional results across your entire image set.
💡 What is [Apply to all]?
The Apply to all button automatically copies your current settings — including AI model, upscale rate or resolution, and face recovery — to all imported images. Use it to ensure all photos follow the same parameters for a unified result. Alternatively, you can assign different models or adjustments to individual images before batch processing.
🧭 How to Use
Import ImagesAdd up to 20 images. Drag and drop them into the workspace or click Add.
Set Upscale Rate or ResolutionChoose a preset scale (e.g., 2×, 4×) or define a custom output resolution.
Select AI ModelPick an AI model best suited to the image type — for example:
Photo – Soft and natural for portraits or everyday photos
Iris – Enhances fine textures such as hair, fur, and eyes
Standard – Ideal for landscapes and architecture
Anime – Designed for illustrations, paintings, and anime-style art
Enable Face Recovery (Optional)Turn on Face Recovery if your images include people. It helps restore facial details and smooth imperfections.
Preview and Adjust SettingsProcess one image first to check results. Fine-tune model strength, upscale ratio, or face recovery if needed.
Apply to All (Optional)Once satisfied, click [Apply to all] to copy your current settings to all remaining unprocessed images.
Or you can right-click the current image from the file list then click the [Apple settings to all images] button.
You can still modify individual images afterward if they require different models or adjustments.
Select Images for Batch ProcessingChoose the specific images you want to process, or click Select all to include the entire batch (the processed image will not be processed again even it is checked on).
Start ProcessingClick [Start processing] to begin batch upscaling. Each image will be processed in sequence based on its assigned model and settings.
Monitor Progress and Review ResultsFollow progress in real time. When finished, review each result and export your enhanced images.
✅ Best Practices
Preview Before Batch Processing: Always test settings on one image before applying them to all.
Mix Models for Different Image Types: Choose different AI models for portraits, artwork, or architecture to get optimal results.
Balance Quality and Speed: Higher upscale ratios and larger original images increase processing time.
Try Cloud Process for Heavy Tasks: If your PC is slow or running low on GPU/CPU memory, switch to Cloud Process for faster performance.(Requires Pro plan and consumes Nero Credits.)

Face Recovery Not AvailableThis feature requires a Pro or higher subscription. Upgrade to unlock advanced facial enhancement.
Task Failed or Processing Stopped
Check your internet connection and ensure the batch does not exceed 20 images.
If your PC is under heavy load or lacks GPU resources, try using the Cloud Process mode for stable and faster results.(Available for Pro users; each image consumes Nero Credits.)
Inconsistent Results Across ImagesConfirm that the correct AI model and settings are applied via [Apply to all], or adjust individually if image types vary.
Slow PerformanceClose other demanding applications or background processes. For best speed, use Cloud Process or reduce batch size.
We’re pleased to announce that the latest version significantly improves processing speed through the Nero Cloud GPU (available since October 2023). With this enhancement, you can now upscale images faster than ever before — powered by the acceleration of Nero’s high-performance Cloud GPU.
What is the Cloud Process?
The Cloud process uses Nero’s remote AI engine integrated within the AI Image Upscaler (Windows Desktop App) to handle image processing tasks.
Your images are securely uploaded to our EU-based servers for processing. Rest assured — your photos are never stored after completion. Once the task is finished, all uploaded data is immediately and permanently deleted, ensuring that your personal images remain private and secure. We take your data privacy seriously and are fully committed to protecting it.
Why do we need the Cloud process?
AI image upscaling performance depends heavily on GPU power and efficiency.
In recent years, GPU prices have soared due to the growing demand from cryptocurrency mining and AI-generated content (AIGC). As a result, not every user can afford high-end graphics cards.
Even if you have a capable GPU at home, you might experience slower performance or limited access when using a laptop or traveling without your desktop PC.
The Online Engine Mode solves all these issues — no more errors, hardware limitations, or long waiting times.
With Nero Cloud GPU, you’ll always enjoy fast, stable, and high-quality upscaling, wherever you are.
Can I use the Cloud process for free?
The Cloud process is not a free service — it requires Nero Credits to operate. Each upscaling task typically consumes 1–2 credits, depending on the selected model and options.
To use Cloud processing, you’ll also need Pro version privileges. You can upgrade your entitlement through in-app purchases or online purchases.
Secondly, you need to have Pro version privileges. You can upgrade your entitlement through in-app purchases or online purchases.
If you have subscribed to our Platinum Suite 1-Year License (also known as the Nero Platinum Suite 365), simply sign in with your Nero Account to activate your entitlement.
As a bonus, we’ll add 100 Nero Credits to your account after a successful purchase.
How to use the Cloud process?
Launch the app and import your image.
Set the target size, AI model, and face options, then click the [Cloud] button to start.
The app will upscale your image using the Nero Cloud GPU.
Once the processing is complete, don’t forget to save your result.
💡 Tip: You can enable Auto-start and set the engine mode to Online, then choose a default model.
After that, simply import an image — no need to click any button. The app will automatically begin upscaling using the Nero Cloud GPU, ensuring faster results on any PC.
What to Consider
Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
Pro version access is required to use Cloud processing.
Make sure you have enough Nero Credits, as each task consumes 1–2 credits.
After processing, remember to save your images to local storage promptly to avoid losing results.
Whether you’re a blogger or designer, an online store owner, or a student, poor photo quality can be a major obstacle when it comes to photo printing and sharing.
These problems are now things of the past – with Nero’s cutting-edge deep learning technology, you can now enlarge your photos by enhancing their details and increasing their resolution.
What is Nero AI Image Upscaler (Lens)?
Nero AI Image Upscaler (Lens) is an AI-powered tool that can enlarge image size and increase resolution with enhanced quality.
By reducing noise and sharpening the details, AI Image Upscaler (Lens) lets works best on small images and photos.
How does Nero AI Image Upscaler (Lens) work?
Nero AI Image Upscaler (Lens) uses state-of-the-art image super-resolution technology based on deep convolutional neural networks.
Our neural network is trained on an immense dataset of training photos. In detail, we used millions of low-resolution and high-resolution image pairs to train the software on upscaling images and to learn typical features of physical objects such as the bricks of walls, hair and skin.
After the network recognizes those features on the images, it will enhance those details based on its general knowledge of the world.
What is traditional image upscaling?
Before AI-based image upscaling technology, it was virtually impossible to increase photo or image size without losing quality.
The best option, called Bicubic Interpolation – made your image unsharp and blurry.

What pictures work best with Nero AI Image Upscaler (Lens)?
The system works best with unprocessed images that were not previously upscaled or pixelated by any other software tool.
Our main focus currently is upscaling physical content with sharp corners like digital illustrations, images with sharp borders, and contrasting textures (such as watches).
For high-quality images such as 4K wallpapers, the result will be less obvious after processing.
Do you remove JPEG compression artifacts?
Yes, we automatically remove JPEG noise (also known as compression artifacts), if we detect an image with a .jpg or .jpeg extension.
If for any reason you want to upscale your image without removing noise, you can input your image as a png-file.
Is there a size limit for the images I want to upscale?
For web and mobile versions, the source image should be smaller than 16 megapixels (e.g. 4000*4000 pixels in a 1:1 aspect ratio).
For the desktop version, the source image should be smaller than 16.78 megapixels.
However, the processing speed depends on your desktop’s and GPU’s limitations.
Processing a high-resolution image will take up more time. In addition, the result may be less obvious.
