Digitizing a vinyl record means analog to digital conversion. With Nero WaveEditor you have an easy to use free tool allowing you to do A/D recording of your vinyl record, plus automatic track splits, as well as single file export in one go.
This FAQ deals with splitting tracks and exporting individual music files of already digitized files.
Track split and exporting to individual tracks in Nero WaveEditor
If you already have recorded a digital track that has all the different music tracks included in one piece, it is easy to open your audio file in Nero WaveEditor, and split and export individual tracks afterwards.
Open Nero WaveEditor and your recorded track via the top menu. Your track will be displayed in Nero WaveEditor timeline with a waveform. In there, you can already visually identify where the individual tracks start and end. With the + and – buttons you can zoom in and out.
There are two ways to add track splits
1. Automatically
Go to the menu bar and select edit > âPause Detectionâ. Set the dB value to minimum (-30 dB), leave the rest of the settings as are. Try out some different settings, if your results are not optimal.
2. Do it manually
Just use the âInsert track splitâ function in the edit menu in combination with the cursor position on the waveform. Each split will create a new track.
For checking each split, zoom in to see the detailed waveform view. If you are not satisfied with the position, just touch the set track split with the cursor and move it slightly left or right. You can also use this function after you have added track splits automatically.
Export your tracks as individual files
In the edit menu go to the bottom entry âSave tracks as Filesâ.
In the coming up window, you can rename your tracks manually. Within the selectable audio file formats for export, you have many options: besides MP3 and AAC even lossless formats. Select the folder where you want to save your files and click ok.
When the export of multiple single files is finished, you have many options of how to utilize your music tracks with other Nero applications:
Import your tracks into Nero MediaHome library (and use Gracenote Music Technolgy for automatic title naming and cover art)
Move your music files including song information and cover art to your mobile device via WiFi+Transfer App connected to Nero MediaHome on your PC
Import your tracks into Nero Burning ROM to burn an Audio CD (and use Gracenote Music Technolgy for automatic title naming and cover art)
Import your tracks into Nero Burning ROM to burn your music files to a Jukebox CD, DVD or BD with higher storage capacity*.
Digitizing an LP means analog to digital conversion. You can do this in Nero WaveEditor and import your digitized tracks to Nero Burning ROM if you want to create an Audio CD.
If your digitized LP track includes all the titles of your vinyl record, Nero Burning ROM provides an option to split these before burning to Audio CD. Open Nero Burning ROM and select the project template Audio CD. Import your digitized track into the project.
Under the menu âFiltersâ you will see âNo Filterâ. Click on the empty filter button to get to the âAudio Track Propertiesâ window. Click on the second tab âIndexes, Limits, Splitâ. Zoom into the waveform display and select a position with the mouse cursor, then click âSplitâ. Do this for each track.
In the example, you can see seven tracks created form the digitized single track.
Click âBurnâ to proceed burning your Audio CD.
Via DriveSpan App for iOS and Android you can easily merge and consolidate all of your  media and data located on a PC and attached external hard discs / storage drives, mobile devices, or on your cloud storage to one central storage location (e.g. a PC, an external hard disc or the cloud). All included devices for consolidation – your sources and the target – are controlled wireless via ‘DriveSpan App’ within the same WiFi network.
Before starting the consolidation, you should check your configuration and your use case for enabling a smooth and error-less consolidation. For details on setting up your devices for consolidation, also check Nero KnowHow 00144. For a demo video of DriveSpan App check Nero KnowHow 00154.
Check your configuration and use cases based on below factors:
the number and types of used devices
the size of your data to be consolidated
the capacity (free space) on your target device
the bandwidth of your network
etc.
During the consolidation, DriveSpan App will identify issues and if possible will provide clear text solutions via the info box on the home screen. In most cases this will help you to resolve the issue. For example: the above message shows that external drive E is not responding. In this case you should check the proper physical connection and also the power supply of your drive (if the latter applies for your case).
After the consolidation is finished, respective errors will be documented in âOverviewâ > âError Reportâ. The âError Reportâ lists all given issues during a consolidation with related error codes, and a description of the issue. If you did not manage to fix your issue based on the proposed solution in the info box, please check the âError Reportâ and report your issue including the given error code.
If no errors occurred during your consolidation, the âOverviewâ will not show an âError Reportâ.
